Popular Auckland based electronic pop duo GoldenAxe are releasing their new album Liquid Bacon inDecember 2011 - through critically acclaimed Czech-Republic record label AMDISCS.
Liquid Bacon is Golden Axe's fourth album, an exciting collection of irresistible pop hooks and upbeat cosmic adventures. Hot on the heels of the success of their Fantasy Footwork album (2010), Liquid Bacon sees the duo switching up & expanding their repertoire - travelling in aa space/stoner metal trajectory via their feverishly catchy take on keyboard psych-pop.
Golden Axe’s previous Fantasy Footwork album contained the number one Radioscope chart hit FreeTime, the accompanying Simon Ward-directed video attracting the attention and affection of the AlteredZones-lauded, Czech Republic based AMDISCS label (Teams, Rangers, Physics). Liquid Bacon will be Golden Axe’s first international release -availablefrom December 9 2011on cassette or ‘pay-what-you-want’ digital download release! AMDISCS will also be producing a coloured vinyl edition of Liquid Bacon - available in February 2012.
Never a band to take a break, in the last year Golden Axe has racked up a student radio hit via their collaboration with PrincessChelsea (SexualAngel), created an unforgettable art installation at CampusA Low Hum and performed alongside the likes of BlackDice (US). In support of the release of Liquid Bacon,Golden Axe will be hitting the road with a brief tour of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch (as part of the three-day Stink Magnetic label’s 13th anniversary celebrations). The Auckland release performance (with SECRETS) at the Audio Foundation will be accompanied by a special tailor-made art installation by the group.
